The workers of GONDAN Shipbuilders decides the destination of the solidarity fund contributed by Edda Wind and USV AS.
The workers’ committee of GONDAN Shipbuilders has decided to allocate the solidarity fund amounting to 6500 euros contributed by the Norwegian shipowners Edda Wind and USV AS to the Fraternidad Association and the EDES Foundation. Entities based in western Asturias that have been working for years to improve the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities and their families. The financial contribution offered by the Norwegian shipowners, as a gesture of recognition for the work of the staff of Astilleros GONDÁN, has been transformed into a solidarity action by decision of the works council.
Following the usual practice, the representation of the staff of Astilleros GONDAN, has prioritized social projects in the immediate environment. Thanks to this contribution, the Fraternity Association will be able to reinforce its support, inclusion and accompaniment programs, and the EDES Foundation will be able to cover the expenses that will arise from the operation of the Summer Leisure Center.
