The Stril Merkur named best ship in 2011
The award was presented at the Naval and Ocean Engineering Awards, which annually recognize the most outstanding constructions in the country. In this edition, the jury particularly valued the design, the technical solutions adopted, and the quality of the construction process of the Stril Merkur ship built by GONDAN.
Stril Merkur is a ship built to support oil fields, acting as a supply, rescue, and surveillance vessel. Thanks to its high-tech equipment, high installed power, and speed, Stril Merkur is capable of acting as an emergency tugboat, serving as the first line of defense in spill recovery, supporting firefighting efforts, or participating in the rescue of shipwreck victims, thanks to its safe and efficient recovery system for free-fall lifeboats in a closed and sheltered environment.
The award is a testament to the work of the shipyard’s engineering, production, and management teams, as well as their ability to execute unique projects that meet high technical, regulatory, and operational standards.
