The first vessels of their kind ever built in Spain, these SOVs are functioning as mother ships for wind turbine technicians, as they perform maintenance work at offshore wind farms on the North Sea. To grant the safety of technicians during transfer operations, these vessels are equipped with cutting edge technology such as an UPTIME 23 m length heave compensated “walk-to-work” gangway, a cutting edge 3D compensated crane and a CTV landing system with bunkering facility. Aligned with the environmentally friendly mindset of the offshore wind industry, the consumption and efficiency of Edda Passat and Edda Mistral are greatly improved thanks to their variable rpm control system which enables the generators to run at their optimal speed.
