New ecological inland navigation vessel
The last challenge of GONDAN GRP Division has been building an ecological inland navigation vessel, Rio Uso, awarded to the shipyard by a public tender by the Province of Toledo, Spain.
The Rio Uso is an electric boat – also fueled during the day by solar panels – which will be focused on taking tourists across the protected Azután lake in the Province of Toledo.
The hull is constructed of fiberglass and the superstructure of aluminium and fiberglass. The configuration is mono-hull, powered by two electric motors driving the shaft lines fitted with FP propellers. She has 15 meters length and 5 meters beam and was designed to be operated with a crew of two persons. She can accommodate sixty passengers on board, and can keep sailing for continuous periods of 20 miles / day at an average speed of 4 knots.
The design of the hull and equipments of the vessel was made aiming neither vibration nor noise in all operating speeds. She is a silent boat to the outside with comfortable smooth sailing inside.
With this new unit Gondan GRP Division manages to achieve the objective of designing and building an absolutely environmentally friendly vessel, in terms of emissions and environmental impact.
