VESTRI ENABLER Naming Ceremony
Last Friday 15th November, the naming ceremony of Vestri Enabler, Commissioning Service Operations Vessel, for the Norwegian shipowner Edda Wind ASA, took place in the port of El Musel in Gijón. In this event, GONDAN has had the pleasure to count with the presence of several representatives of the management of the shipowner Edda Wind, and part of its board of directors. In this case, the ladysponsor was Danielle Baron, from Crédit Agricole.
The vessel, designed by Salt Ship Design, a Norwegian company, has a length of 88m and a beam of 19.7m, prepared with zero emissions technology, and with a capacity to accommodate 120 people ; 97 technicians and 23 crew members. The vessel’s main purpose will be to support offshore wind platforms. To perform such tasks, it is equipped with the most modern and automated equipments, including a 3D offset offshore crane, a 30m reach offset offshore gangway, an integrated elevator with a capacity for 26 people and a 21m helipad. The vessel has an innovative propulsion system of cycloidal propellers driven by permanent magnet motors, and is prepared for future hydrogen (LOHC) operations in order to reduce its carbon footprint.
Throughout this week, Vestri Enabler will leave El Musel and will depart for the United Kingdom.
