
Naming ceremony of the Austri Enabler
Last Saturday 10th of May, took place in our facilities, the ceremony for the sponsorship of the Austri Enabler, Commissioning Service Operations Vessel, the last of a series of 6 vessels manufactured for the Norwegian shipowner Edda Wind ASA. During the celebration, GONDAN was honoured to have the presence of prominent representatives of Edda Wind’s management and members of its board of directors, on this occasion, the godmother was Ingeborg Kolbeinsen, Vice President of Accounting of Edda Wind.
The vessel, designed by Salt Ship Design, a Norwegian company, has a length of 88m and a beam of 19.7m, prepared with zero emissions technology, and with a capacity to accommodate 120 people-97 technicians and 23 crew members. The vessel’s main purpose will be to support offshore wind platforms. To perform such tasks, it is equipped with state-of-the-art automated equipment, including a 3D offset offshore crane, a 30-metre reach offset offshore gangway, a 26-person capacity integrated lift and a 21-metre helipad. The vessel features an innovative propulsion system of cycloidal propellers driven by permanent magnet motors, and is prepared for future hydrogen (LOHC) operations in order to reduce its carbon footprint.
Over the next few weeks, the Austri Enabler will continue the test plan.
