GONDAN workers make collaborations thanks to Edda Wind donation
As a result of the good relationship between the two companies, during the celebration of the naming ceremony of the vessel Edda Boreas, the CEO of Edda Wind, Kenneth Walland, presented the shipyard workers with a cheque for 4,000 euros for donations among local non-governmental organizations.
Edda Wind is one of the most innovative and reputable companies in its sector worldwide, leading the way in the adoption of clean energy and the use of efficient technological solutions to achieve the maximum reduction of the environmental impact of its operations. Astilleros GONDAN has commissioned 8 vessels for this shipowner.
The workers of GONDAN decided to donate the economic contribution received from the shipowner to two organisations with which they collaborate on a regular basis: Fraternidad Association and Edes Foundation.
Fraternidad is a non-profit association aimed at providing comprehensive care for people with intellectual disabilities over the age of 16, while the Edes Foundation is also a non-profit organisation that has been working in the rural area of north-western Asturias and Mariña Lucense since 1999, offering specialised services and support to guarantee the exercise of rights, access to resources and the social inclusion of each person with disabilities in rural areas.
