GONDAN to Construct Advanced Ocean Energy Support Vessel for Østensjø Rederi

GONDAN Shipbuilders is proud to announce the signing of a new contract with Østensjø Rederi for the construction of an innovative Ocean Energy Support Vessel (OESV). This project marks another milestone in our commitment to delivering specialized, high-quality vessels tailored to the evolving needs of the offshore energy sector.

The new 120-meter OESV, to be built at our facilities in Asturias, Spain, will feature a 23-meter beam and will accommodate up to 180 personnel in high-standard daylight cabins. Designed by Salt Ship Design of Norway, the vessel is equipped to perform a wide range of offshore operations, including Inspection, Maintenance, and Repair (IMR), construction, walk-to-work services, and cable laying. Its versatile design offers the flexibility to deliver various services on a single operating platform, ensuring adaptability to different market demands.

In collaboration with an owner that is at the forefront of sustainable operations, GONDAN’s commitment to sustainability is further strengthened through this project. The OESV will be powered by an advanced hybrid propulsion system, integrating battery technology with other energy-saving innovations such as heat recovery systems. This design not only aligns with GONDAN’s environmental objectives but also supports Østensjø Rederi’s leading role in driving the maritime industry toward a low-emission future.
