GONDAN Shipbuilders adheres to the “STAY AT HOME” movement

Given the exceptional situation of a pandemic, last Monday, the Management of the company, together with the trade unions representing the workers have decided to modify the work calendar and halt ON-SITE activity at the yard till April 13th. The measures were adopted to face the challenges caused by the Coronavirus Pandemic, in order to prevent a potential contagion of the COVID-19 within the yard’s workforce and minimize the risks that the spreading of this virus might have on the health of our workers, their families and and the Spanish health system. This agreement has been possible thanks to the maximum flexibility of the company and workers, who have combined concerns and have given a quick response to this difficult situation.

Although, there was no positive case at the staff at the moment of the decision and the area were our facilities are located has barely incidence of this virus, company and workers, with goodwill and sacrifice, have committed to keeping people safe and joining the worldwide STAY AT HOME campaign, expecting to resume activities on April 13th, with a fully preserved and motivated workforce, which will make up for the days not worked on future holidays and vacation periods.
