Christmas Solidarity in Figueras 2022
GONDAN Shipbuilders and the works council distribute more than 6000 euros in solidarity donations.
Once again, and following the success of previous years, the works council of GONDAN Shipbuilders has carried out a Christmas lottery sales campaign including a financial donation. On this occasion, the shipyard workers and their subcontractors, with the collaboration of the company itself, have donated the amount collected, dividing it between the entities Fraternidad and Fundación Edes (1600 euros each), the Galbán association (1600 euros) as well as 1270 euros dedicated to the collection of basic necessities for the Food Bank promoted by the Castropol Town Council.
Fraternidad is a non-profit association aimed at providing comprehensive care for people with intellectual disabilities over the age of 16, while the Edes Foundation is also a non-profit organisation that has been working in the rural area of north-western Asturias and La Mariña Lucense since 1999, offering specialised services and support to guarantee the exercise of rights, access to resources and the social inclusion of each person with disabilities in rural areas. The Association of Families of Children with Cancer of the Principality of Asturias “Galbán” was created in 2001 in response to the needs of the parents of children with cancer, who receive treatment at the Maternal and Child Hospital of the Central University Hospital of Asturias (HUCA).
